An uninvolved Mercedes struck the Volkswagen, killing a woman in the passenger seat and injuring a man and child also in the vehicle, officers said and KPIX reported. The driver and passenger in the Mercedes also were taken to a hospital with major injuries.

A woman was killed, while a child and a man are in the hospital in what is believed to be a road rage crash on Saturday in Santa Rosa, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the CHP, the Mazda rammed the Volkswagen, which sent the vehicle into the oncoming lane, where its right side was struck by a northbound Mercedes, just south of the Rohnert Park Expressway. The front passenger in the Volkswagen, a woman, was pronounced dead at the crash site, officials said.

A woman is dead, and a man and child were injured after two other cars were involved in an earlier road rage incident in Santa Rosa Saturday afternoon.
