Penn State hits the road to face USC next week. It long looked like it would be a highly ranked matchup, but the Trojans’ loss to unranked Minnesota knocked them out of the top 25. USC is now 3-2 on the year, with a win over LSU and a loss to Michigan as the highlights thus far.

Penn State rose two spots from No. 7 to No. 5 in the new college football Coaches Poll on Sunday after the Nittany Lions improved to 5-0 with a 27-11 win over UCLA. They were one of three Big Ten teams on the rise in the poll following a chaotic weekend of college football.
