The San Diego Padres punished the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of the NLDS on Sunday evening in a contest that was almost as notable for its simmering hostilities as it was for its outcome. Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty and Padres third baseman Manny Machado exchanged sharp words at multiple points in the game.

Tempers flared on the field and in the stands at Dodger Stadium, with rowdy fans tossing baseballs, apparently at San Diego left fielder Jurickson Profar, and then trash that caused a 12-minute wait between pitches during the seventh inning of the Padres' 10-2 win in NL Division Series Game 2 on Sunday night.

Baseball fans were not having it with Dave Roberts's latest quote. On Monday afternoon on the eve of Game 3 of the Los Angeles Dodgers' NLDS matchup with the San Diego Padres, Roberts made an odd statement.
