BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) — Police and firefighters in New Hampshire responded to an unusual call Thursday morning — a moose was trapped in a backyard swimming pool. A video shot by police shows rescuers removing a pool covering after arriving at the home at about 8:45 a.m. to reveal the adult moose standing in the water.

At around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, police and firefighters were dispatched to a home on Riddle Drive for a report of a moose in a swimming pool. When first responders arrived, they found the adult moose in the pool under a pool cover. First responders removed the cover to help the moose to get out of the pool.

The Bedford New Hampshire Police and Fire Department were both called out when a moose got stuck during his afternoon swim. They pulled the pool cover back so the animal could get out, which he calmly did while giving the camera some side eye.
