After the death toll in the catastrophic flash floods in Texas reached at least 104 people, including 27 campers and counselors from Camp Mystic, an all girls camp, the Trump administration is explaining the series of warnings that were issued ahead of the floods.
Democrats criticize Trump's cuts to the National Weather Service and his approach to climate change after at least 59 people died in major Texas floods that occurred over the July 4th holiday.
Experts said the NWS did a good job warning about the flooding, but questions remain about whether the cuts played a role.
More than 100 people have been confirmed dead since July 4, when the Guadalupe River in central Texas swelled overnight and triggered flash floods that swept through an area known locally as “Flash Flood Alley.
Officials defended their actions in the hardest-hit county, where no survivors have been found since Friday and questions are mounting over disaster preparation and flood warnings.
