South Korean writer Han Kang has won the Nobel Prize for literature, the Swedish Academy announced on Thursday, for her “intense prose” that “exposes the fragility of human life.” She is best known internationally for her novel “The Vegetarian,” about a woman who believes she is turning into a plant, which was translated into English in 2015.
