A pair of first-half rushing scores was just enough offense for Nebraska as the Blackshirts — helped by a late special teams turnaround — sealed a Husker win over Rutgers.

If there was a silver lining in Nebraska’s famed sea of red, it was the way Rutgers’ defense responded. The unit was not perfect in the first half, but it was nearly invincible in the second half, holding Nebraska to 55 total yards, four first downs and an average of 1.9 yards per play.
