Emergency responders kept hope alive as they combed through fallen trees and other debris that littered the hard-hit central Texas communities on the fifth day after devastating floods killed more than 100.

Kerr County officials stressed that their priority is search and rescue operations and avoided answering questions on the emergency warning system.

The risk of life-threatening flooding is still high in central Texas with more rain on the way. Searchers now have found 68 bodies in Kerr County, where a wall of water came down the Guadalupe River.
