Former U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff fought back from a set down to beat Spain's Paula Badosa 4-6 6-4 6-2 at the China Open in Beijing on Saturday and set up a final with Czech Karolina Muchova. Double faults and a weaker second serve troubled world number six Gauff early in the match as Badosa won 75% of her second return points in the set.

In the Round of 32 on Monday, Zheng took home the victory against No. 66-ranked Nadia Podoroska, winning 6-3, 6-2. Over the past two years, Muchova and Zheng have gone head to head one time in the final of the 32nd Palermo Ladies Open, and Zheng came out on top 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

It was the third consecutive time that Karolina Muchova has won against the three-time major winner and the Czech player now leads their head-to-head series 3-1.
