Texas man Jacob Wayne Tarver was arrested and charged with two felonies for reporting a false shooting threat at the Church at the Epicenter in Burnet.

Burnet County Sheriff Calvin Boyd said investigators spent most of Sunday and part of Monday searching for two men who Tarver said were involved in what turned out to be a false report. He did not provide a motive for Tarver's report but said that his mental health had been evaluated by authorities. Boyd declined to comment further about it.

A reported threat that led to a shooting incident at a Burnet County church is now being called a "false story."Monday afternoon, the Burnet County Sheriff said 45-year-old Jacob Wayne Tarver was arrested and charged with making a false report to induce an emergency response.

Tarver is charged with misdemeanor false report to induce an emergency response, felony tampering or fabricating physical evidence and felony deadly conduct. He remains in the Burnet County Jail and has not had a bond set.
