Apple is planning to open four new retail stores in India and has begun manufacturing the iPhone 16 Pro models domestically, the company said as it deepens its presence in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.

Apple has decided to begin producing AirPods in the country, according to The Times of India on October 3, 2024.

Made in India, the iPhone 16 Pro will land in stores soon and be exported too with Bengaluru and Pune earmarked for the next Apple Store expansion phase

Apple is gearing up to open four more Apple Stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. As of now, the timeline isn't clear.

Apple declared that it would be opening four more retail locations in India, including ones in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien, commended the ingenuity and fervor of Indian consumers while expressing excitement about the company’s planned expansion into the country.

Apple has no plans to shift its production away from India, as the Hosur incident has not impacted its operations, with sufficient stockpiles in place.
