General Motors has temporarily halted truck and SUV production at two assembly plants in Texas and Michigan because of impacts to its suppliers due to Hurricane Helene, the automaker said Friday.

GM confirmed in a statement to Fortune that two factories, one in Michigan and one in Texas, had canceled shifts on Thursday and Friday. The company did not have a timeline for when the factories would be up and running again, but emphasized they were working quickly to resume operations.

General Motors has shut down production temporarily at two big plants due to hurricane Helene's impacts. Friday and Thursday shifts were cancelled at Flint, Mich., and Arlington, Texas plants.

The automaker said it canceled all shifts Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 at Arlington Assembly in Texas and Flint Assembly in Michigan.
